Taking a handprint or pawprint.
We will send you a piece of special paper to obtain the prints.
Place the paper on hard surface.
Press the hand or paw down firmly on the paper.
Lift the hand / paw straight up.
Send the pieces of paper with the prints to us. Please do not have fold lines going through the prints.
We supply you with easy to follow instructions (a video link is available) to take the fingerprint and send it direct to us via email (good quality large image as some mobile phones are not suitable).
A more preferable way is to send the fingerprints via post to our address.
For those who require a fingerprint of their deceased loved one. Ask the funeral director to contact us direct asap before the funeral and we will take the fingerprint for you.
Babies under 1 year do not produce the best of fingerprints due to their age and stage of development. Though you can still get a finger impression that can be a lovely keepsake. But a hand print is an ideal alternative.

Q. Is your jewellery hand crafted?
A. Yes, all our jewellery is made by hand, and every piece is individual. We make the fingerprint and hand print jewellery in 999 fine silver.
Q. How do we order?
A. You can either order in person, by appointment here at SilvernGlade in Chester, or you can telephone or email us.
Please complete the order form and submit it to us. If you have any problems please email all details of order direct to email@example.com
Q. How long does it take before I received it?
A. From the time we receive the fingerprint back to dispatch is between 7-21days. During Bank Holidays and Christmas it may be longer.
*If it has to go for hallmarking this will incur additional time outside of our control - though we will make every endeavour to achieve the 14-21 days, we cannot promise to meet it. If it is urgent this can be accommodated but their will be an unavoidable extra cost for fast hallmarking (outside our control).
Q. Can stones or wording be added to the fingerprint jewellery?
We can add small Cubic Zirconica or Real faceted stones - depending on your requirements and size of piece. We cannot add a stone bigger than 2mm in size due to the thickness of the fingerprint.
Real stones do incur an extra cost, if you required a real stone please contact us first.
Wording is limited due to size of the chosen shape and is normally handwritten. Details are on the site.
If their are any problems fitting the lettering in with the shape chosen (e.g one long word) then we will contact you before commencing the order. We prefer the maximum 12 letter option on reverse to be at least 2 separate words, as the wording cannot be directly at the back of the fingerprint itself. Any queries regarding your requirements please contact us prior to ordering as engraving is NOT done in house.
Q. Is a high polish included?
A. All our 999 silver items have a high polished front (except where the fingerprint is) and rear side.
Q. How do I look after my silver jewellery?
A. Because the pure silver is softer than sterling silver, it can mark easier, so it is best to remove after wearing and keep separately from your other items of jewellery. We do not make keyrings in 999 for this very reason - as they knock against your keys and after a time get damaged.
A good quality jeweller's silver cloth will remove any tarnish or chemicals you have been applying to your skin or clothes. So it is a good idea to give them a quick wipe when you take your jewellery off. If you do not have one to hand, gently wash under the tap with warm water then using a soft piece of kitchen roll gently rub over - this is better than nothing to remove the oils and chemicals.
We don't realise that the oils, perfumes and even soaps we use can affect our jewellery, causing it to discolour, so to keep your jewellery looking good it is best to clean it regularly. Keep it separate, even if just in a little plastic bag, within your jewellery box. This doesn't only apply to pure silver, but also to other jewellery that has delicate stones like pearls. Don't keep them in a bag that contains gold or silver thread as this can scratch the surface.
